Early Intensive Behavioral Intervention In North Las Vegas
The earliest years of a child’s life are full of wonder, joy, and discovery. They are also the most crucial for development. At Project MIND, our Early Intensive Behavioral Intervention (EIBI) therapy supports children from 18 months. With us, they will build the skills they need for life.
EIBI is an intensive program, usually running anywhere from 30+ hours per week. This may seem like a lot, but we’ve structured it so that it feels more enjoyable while still learning!
Under the guidance of our passionate Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA), children will engage in fun activities. The activities are tailored to their developmental stage.
Some activities include:
- Learning self-help skills like washing hands
- Practicing social and communication skills
- Boosting motor skills by dancing, stacking, and climbing
- Using stories, songs, and rewards to boost positive behaviors

How EIBI Helps
EIBI uses the principles of ABA to help break down complex skills into more manageable parts. We think of EIBI as a high-intensity ABA for toddlers and preschoolers. Our goal is to help young children start learning critical skills as early in life as possible. This will set them up for success in their future.
Here’s what sets EIBI apart from ABA:
- EIBI can start as early as 18 months to give the child a strong foundation. This is also the best time for little brains to learn!
- Parents have an important role in EIBI, where they are included every step of the way. This ensures that skills learned in the session continue at home.
- Our sessions are age-appropriate and focus on supporting early development milestones. This includes feeding, communication, potty training, and gross motor skills.
- We build sessions around the child’s routine because we know that toddlers need their naps, snacks, and, of course, playtime. Because EDIBI is flexible, it respects the child’s natural rhythms.
We approach EIBI with warmth, compassion, flexibility, and creativity. We offer support that feels natural to toddlers and preschoolers.
The Goals of EIBI
We know that every child is unique and their journey may not be linear, and that’s okay! Progress can look a little different to somebody else, but families often see progress like:
- Greater independence in their everyday routine
- Fewer meltdowns and improved behavior regulation
- Improved communication, including verbal and non-verbal
- Better social engagement, like making eye contact and playing with others
- Improved daily life skills like potty training, feeding, and following routines
We also feel it’s an important outcome that families feel hopeful and supported during this journey.
How EIBI Works
The assessment process for EIBI is like that for ABA. You’ll first need to submit paperwork for diagnostics and insurance. We know that paperwork is not exciting! That’s why we’re there for you every step of the way.
Once all the paperwork is complete, we’ll start with a parent meeting. In the meeting, we’ll learn about your child’s history, routines, challenges, and strengths. Next up, our specialists will observe your child in a relaxed and fun environment. This will allow them to observe your child while they play.
From there, our specialist will create a tailored plan, with your input, that blends learning with play and routine.
