Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders Support In North Las Vegas
Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) comes with lifelong emotional, social, and behavioral challenges that we know can leave many families feeling overwhelmed.
We’re one of the few clinics in the city that accepts and supports children with FASD in a warm and compassionate environment.
Children with FASD often have different behaviors than those on the autism spectrum, and our team is trained to approach this with expertise and kindness.
At Project MIND, we focus on positive behavioral support.

FASD support is fantastic for children who experience:
- Poor balance and coordination
- Learning challenges and memory difficulties
- Poor mood swings and low frustration tolerance
- Challenges with problem-solving and social skills
- Trouble concentrating or switching between tasks
- ABOUT PROJECT MIND
A Partner for Families
Because symptoms of FASD often look like autism and ADHD, FASD can be difficult to diagnose, which is why, sadly, so many children are undiagnosed. In fact, 18.8% of foster care children are estimated to have FASD according to data shared by the National Library of Medicine.
FASD can lead to physical, cognitive, emotional, and behavioral differences, which, with the right support and early recognition, can be effectively managed. To learn more about our support for FASD children, please don’t hesitate to contact us. Our team is here to answer all your questions!

How Our FASD Support Services Help
Because children with FASD have shorter behavioral fuses, they’re often labeled as naughty or ill-disciplined. But we understand that this is not the case and recognize each child’s unique challenges with FASD.
Our support is trauma-informed, utilizing a behavioral approach that addresses the behaviors that occur. We work proactively by:
- Identifying precursors early: FASD often comes with explosive behavioral tendencies, which is why so many clinics don’t offer FASD support. Not us. We are trained to spot the small signs that come before the behavior escalates.
- Building frustration tolerance: Our support teaches children how to handle challenges gradually. This is very helpful for the feeling of disappointment and change.
- Encouraging independence: At Project MIND, all our sessions are structured so that they’re interwoven. During FASD support sessions, children will also practice skills like getting dressed to build independence, which is helpful in all aspects of their lives.
Our FASD support is not about managing behaviors. It’s about helping children develop tools for life. All our sessions are held in a safe and supportive space built for children to thrive!
Goals of FASD Support Services
Our FASD support sessions are built on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and tailored to each child. Our goals include:
- Strengthening focus and attention
- Building play and social interaction skills
- Learning coping strategies for frustration
- Reducing aggressive or explosive outbursts
- Developing life skills like self-care and eating
- Improved language and communication (verbal or non-verbal)
Our ultimate goal is for children to learn healthy emotional regulation. This will help them feel confident and capable whether at home, school, or in our sessions.

Insurances We Accept
Currently, only Medicaid covers FASD treatment in Nevada.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why is FASD support harder to find than autism or ADHD programs?
Many clinics aren’t equipped or prepared to handle the explosive behaviors that children with FASD often experience. At Project MIND, we have the expertise to offer children the support they need in a safe and compassionate environment.
Is this just behavior management?
No. While behavior management is important, we also offer support that helps children develop life skills that will take them into the future.
